Reflecting on Your Summer and Planning for Next Year

As the season winds down, let’s take a moment to reflect on how your garden’s been doing this summer.

While some may still be gardening, many of us are starting to wind things down in the garden. Now’s the perfect time to think back on the highs, the lows, and everything in between, as we plan for even more success next year.

1. What Worked? 🌱

Think about the seeds that thrived this year. Maybe your tomatoes were unstoppable, or your herb garden became the neighborhood envy. Celebrate those wins—these are the successes you’ll want to repeat next year. Take note of what worked best, and plan to build on those achievements.

2. What Didn’t? 🌿

No garden is without its challenges. Did your cucumbers struggle, or maybe the heatwave scorched some plants? Reflect on what didn’t go as planned and try to figure out why. Every challenge is a lesson in disguise, helping you avoid similar issues next season.

3. What Surprised You? 🌸

Gardens have a way of surprising us. Whether it was a stubborn plant that suddenly flourished or a gardening tip that worked wonders, those unexpected joys remind us that gardening is just as much about discovery as routine.

4. What Would You Do Differently? 🌼

With those lessons in mind, think ahead to next year. What changes would you make? Starting seeds earlier or experimenting with new crops could make a world of difference. Planning now while it’s fresh in your mind can lead to even greater success next season.

5. What’s on Your Wishlist? 🌻

Let’s dream big. What’s on your gardening wishlist for next year? Whether it’s a new variety of heirloom tomatoes or setting up that drip irrigation system, dreaming and planning are half the fun!
